Crocodile legs

Leg skin, especially shin skin starts out with few oil glands. Then we strip away natural moisturizing elements every time we shave, bleach, wax or use chemicals to melt away the fuzz. Add to that sun exposure, even casual, walking around in summer skirts and shorts and the result is dry, often papery skin which is fine for handbags, but less great fro legs. And as we age, leg skin becomes even drier.

The secret with skin-drenching anywhere on the body: exfoliate first (if you don't remove the top layer of cells, they form a barrier to even the richest moisturizer). Use an exfoliate cream ro take a handful of coarse salt when you're in the bath and rub gently in a circular motion (exfoliation is also thought to nudge sluggish skin cells into renewing themselves at a faster rate.

And new skin cells positively gleam. Rinse well, then slather with a super-rich lotion. If they're especially very and scaly, rub in honey and leave for a few minutes, before rinsing off (it's Madonna's favorite body moisturiser).
